As a graduate of the Muscular Therapy Institute (MTI) in Cambridge, MA, I trained and completed an intensive 900 hour program which focused on the Benjamin System of Muscular Therapy and Bodywork. Muscular Therapy differs from traditional Massage Therapy because of the unique combination of treatment, exercise and education designed to reduce chronic muscle tension and to promote physical health. Prior to training at MTI, I attended the Boston Shiatsu School for a brief period, where I was fortunate enough to study with school founder Kikuko Miyazaki Zutrau (Kiku) in the art of Japanese Therapeutic Bodywork, including Shiatsu and Sotai. Melding different styles and techniques is a passion of mine which I take great pride in . In addition to these modalities, I utilizes the principles of Neuromuscular Therapy, Myofascial Release, Swedish Massage, Sports Massage, and of course Muscular Therapy. In 2010, I received training in Active Isolated Stretching, which has become an invaluable and practical addition to my manual therapy practice. The most recent educational path that has unfolded for me is CranioSacral Therapy, through the Upledger Institute. I look forward to integrating this more into my practice and am excited to be able to share this incredible work that Dr. John Upledger uncovered.
I approach each therapeutic massage individually with care, compassion and acute awareness of my clients needs. Please join me to discover the truly remarkable ability that your body has to heal.
